I’m the creator of the Career Talk with Working Women podcast, and Calliope’s Quest children’s books. These are resources for young girls to research possible careers by reading and listening to interviews with women in their community doing jobs they may be interested in.
Anna Doo – the person
I’m an insatiably curious and inquisitive person, a journalist, a designer, a life-long learner and a lover of stories.
I’m the Mom of two amazing children, and the wife of a wonderful man. I’m a Soldier in the Army National Guard. I’m an entrepreneur.
I love to listen to women share their individual stories, struggles and successes and have a desire to share what I learn with those who may benefit from the knowledge.
Why Career Talk with Working Women
I started this project because I’m a 35-year-old woman who doesn’t quite know what I want to be when I grow up! There are so many options and opportunities that it feels nearly impossible to choose just one. I have degrees in graphic and website design, and an MBA in entrepreneurship. I’ve been afforded the opportunity to attend my fair share of training in my military service that spans human resources, public affairs and photojournalism, logistics, leadership, and intelligence. What do I do with all that?!?!?! I start another business and go out interviewing women; that’s what I do!
Going on an adventure!
Let’s go on this trek together. I can’t wait to hear the stories and hope this website and the children’s books will be a useful resource for young girls searching for a career.
